Former Southampton defender Florin Gardoș has expressed his disappointment at having been released by the club, claiming he feels he was never given a chance.
The Romanian defender was one of two senior players named in the South Coast club’s released list earlier this month, alongside full-back Jeremy Pied, and many fans were fairly unconcerned when he was let go.
However, the 29-year old has taken to Instagram to express his frustrations, while also wishing the club and it’s fans well in the future.

In Gardoș’ farewell post, his caption reads:
I am disappointed that after my injury in 2015, none of the managers gave me any chances to prove my worth and repay the confidence everyone else has shown me.
But, I’ll always remember the great memories and I’ll never forget the taste of a win on Emirates, Old Traffrod or St Mary’s Stadium.
Thank you Saints, I will always be your fan!
Since his release, Gardoș has re-signed with Universitatea Craiova, the Romanian club he spent time on loan with last season from Southampton.
