Southampton revealed their first summer signing on Tuesday, as Stuart Armstrong arrived from Celtic for a reported £7 million on a four-year deal.
The Scotland international has enjoyed a three-year spell with the Scottish champions, scoring 28 goals. He has also been capped six times by his country.
Armstrong plays predominantly as an attacking midfielder, but can also play a bit deeper as a central midfielder.
It will be interesting to see where he fits into the Southampton side next season, with the squad already seeming to have plenty of midfield options. But with Dusan Tadic on his way to Dutch giants Ajax, could Armstrong be the Serb’s replacement?

Tadic and Armstrong have things in common, with both players showing versatility in an attacking position, whether that’s through the middle or in a wider role.
The 26-year-old is a very creative player, which is complemented by his good range of passing, which can slice open opposing back lines and invent opportunities for teammates as well as himself.
Personally, I believe Armstrong will be a good addition to the side and could flourish in the Premier League, but I hope he isn’t Tadic’s replacement.
I still feel we need high quality in that position, and someone who is able to link the midfield and attack together, so our forwards can get service, and avoid isolation in the final third.
But whether Stuart Armstrong is capable of filling this role, only time will tell.
