The Serbian is keen to move back to Holland after a four-year spell at Southampton in which he has made 162 appearances laying on 22 goals in the process.
After Saints struggled last season the 29-year-old is looking to be back in European competition and Ajax are in the qualification rounds for the Champions League next season.

However, he did play a key role in helping to keep the Saints in the Premier League last season, particularly towards the end of the campaign where he put in a number of fine performances which included a brace in the win over Bournemouth.
Tadic is still competing at the World Cup with Serbia, but his country will be eliminated with a defeat against Brazil.
