Ligue 1 side Bordeaux are interested in bringing in Sofiane Boufal as a replacement for their star player, should Malcom leave the French Club, according to L’Equipe, as translated by Sport Witness.
The young Brazilian has been sought after by a number of top tier clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United, but Bordeaux refused to let him leave last Summer or in the January transfer window. Now, however, the attacking midfielder looks set for a move to Inter Milan.
After a sluggish first season, it is understood that Boufal is open to a move back to France. Le10Sport reported that Marseille were recently offered the player.
The Southampton midfielder has spent the majority of his career in France, initially breaking through at Angers before succeeding at Lille. Like many before him, the trip to the Premier League beckoned, but unfortunately for the player and the club, he has failed to justify his £16 million transfer fee.
Despite making 59 appearances over two seasons, Boufal scored just four goals – though this included a goal of the season contender against West Brom.

In any case, new manager Mark Hughes isn’t a fan of the attacking midfielder, and should he decide the Moroccan international isn’t in his plans for the upcoming season, a move back to France is more than likely.
