Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has admitted that Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand was his most difficult opponent in his first season in England, speaking to the Manchester Evening News.
The City man played against the Saints man on the final day of the season at St Mary’s and was impressed with the way the fullback played.
Bertrand kept the Portuguese star very quiet on the day as City edged to a narrow 1-0 win to claim a record points tally.
Silva signed for City last summer and found regular opportunities tough to come by as Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane kept up their fine form throughout the season.

He now has a big summer ahead as he will play a key role for his country as they hope to match their Euro 2016 campaign and lift the World Cup.
When Silva was asked who his most difficult opponent was in his debut season in the Premier League he said:
Ryan Bertrand, Southampton’s left-back.
