Southampton are one of a number of clubs tracking Stoke City attacker Xherdan Shaqiri. following his side’s relegation to the Championship, according to Talksport.
The player is looking for a move away and Saints new boss Mark Hughes is keen to bring the player to St Mary’s having worked with him when the pair were at Stoke.
Shaqiri has admitted that he is keen to get his future sorted prior to the World Cup getting underway, where he is expected to play a key role for Switzerland.

The Saints face tough competition for his signature from fellow Premier League sides, Everton and Tottenham as they look to improve their squad after a tough campaign last season.
It is widely expected that it will take a large sum to sign the player after a fine season at Stoke, but he was unable to prevent them from getting relegated to the Championship.
