Ajax have made Southampton midfielder Dusan Tadic their number one summer transfer target, according to De Telegraaf, as cited by Sport Witness.
The Dutch side were hoping to pounce on Southampton’s impending relegation into the second tier, but the Saints pulled off their great escape.
This hasn’t put Ajax off a deal and they’re now stepping up their interest.
The general consensus is that the Serb would be open on a move to the club as he would be able to compete for the top honours again and be back playing in the Champions League.
The Saints are very keen on keeping him at the club after playing a vital role at the end of the season to help dig them out of the mess which saw them five points adrift at the bottom with five games remaining.
