Southampton full-back Ryan Bertrand is being targeted as part of a £65million double swoop by Tottenham for Premier League defenders this summer, according to an Express exclusive.
Alongside Swansea defender Alfie Mawson, Mauricio Pochettino is looking to spend highly to strengthen his backline, and has identified Bertrand as a top target.
Pochettino is seeking to refresh his squad, with a number of departures expected. Both Danny Rose and Toby Alderwiereld are targets for Manchester United, while the latter is also being considered by Chelsea and Arsenal.

Bertrand is likely to leave Saints this summer, especially if the club cannot stave off the imminent threat of dropping down to the Championship.
While Everton, Newcastle and Wolves are all said to be interested in the 28-year old, Tottenham would be willing to match Southampton’s valuation of £25million.
Bertrand signed a new £80,000-a-week five-year deal with the South Coast club in 2016.
