Mario Lemina has said that his heart is currently in the fight for survival and only when the Saints are safe should the club look to secure player’s futures, speaking to The Daily Echo.
Lemina is in his debut season at St Mary’s, signing from Italian giants Juventus for a club record fee of £16m. He has been criticised for numerous performances but has also looked unstoppable on several occasions.
Mark Hughes got his first league win since returning to the club he played for between 1998 and 2000, in the 2-1 win against fellow South Coast side AFC Bournemouth, in a crucial win in which Lemina provided an assist for Dusan Tadic.

Southampton have three games left to secure survival, playing Everton, Manchester City and a crucial game against Swansea City away, who are one point and one spot ahead of the Saints.
The Gabon international has said in a recent interview (via The Daily Echo):
The club has given me everything I need to perform and I need to give back with all my heart to win the last three games.
But now this is our situation and we have to just keep going and work a lot to save the club.
