Team news: Arsenal vs Southampton

Southampton have the chance to claim only their second win in the Premier League since the end of November as they face an in-form Arsenal side at the Emirates this weekend.

Due to Arsenal’s participation in the Europa League, the tie has been rescheduled for Sunday afternoon after originally being placed for Monday evening.

There are seven Premier League games left for Southampton to avoid the drop but face a tough run-in, starting with the trip to North London.

Mark Hughes is set for just his second game as Southampton manager in the Premier League and will demand a response after a shocking performance against West Ham last weekend.

The previous meeting between the two this season saw the sides draw 1-1 at St Mary’s Stadium, with Charlie Austin and Olivier Giroud scoring the goals.

Both sides have been hit with injuries throughout the course of the season and there are plenty of updates on the condition of both teams’ players ahead of Sunday’s clash.

Steven Davis is set to return to the squad after nursing a thigh injury in recent weeks and could make a start.

Mario Lemina is has been suffering with illness throughout the course of the week. However, he did train on Friday and could be in contention for the game at Arsenal.
