It’s been reported by Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo that Southampton tried to sign Paco Alcacer in January and are keen to go back in with another offer in the summer.
A number of other clubs are interested in the player but it’s thought that should the Saints avoid the drop, they would want the player once more.
Lille have been heavily linked with a move for Alcacer. However, like Saints, their future in the top flight is uncertain at this stage.

Alcacer has played only a sporadic role in the Barcelona side since his big-money move from Valencia and he could be tempted to seek pastures new if he continues to struggle for game-time.
Barcelona are aware of the interest of the player and are rumoured to be happy to accept offers if they are made at a realistic price come this summer’s transfer window.
The deal would solely depend on whether Southampton could avoid the drop in the Premier League, which at this stage looks unlikely.
