Southampton forward Charlie Austin has described his side’s visit to the London Stadium next weekend to face West Ham as “massive”, as reported by the club’s official website.
The Saints top scorer is set to return to the squad following a long injury lay-off which has seen him miss over four months of action having returned to first-team training last week.
His return comes at good time, with the club struggling to score too many goals of late. They will be look to Austin to hit the ground running upon his return and help keep the club in the division.

The forward was on a fine stretch of form, netting five goals in just four starts, before he picked up an injury in the game against Huddersfield Town at St Mary’s Stadium.
Austin has been speaking ahead of his potential return at West Ham next weekend.
We can’t look beyond the West Ham game – there’s no point. We’ve got to go into that game and we’ve got to win. Points are what’s needed now. The fans have really got to buy into what the new manager is going to bring to the table, which they certainly did at the weekend (against Wigan), and I’m sure they will again at the London Stadium.

He continued and went on to add:
We know as a team what we need to do, and, as fans, I’m sure they know what they need to do.
If we come together and create a massive atmosphere in which everyone comes together, there’s only one way we can go.
