Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand has been called up to Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad as they step up their preparations for the World Cup.
England face the Netherlands on the 23rd March before Italy visit Wembley Stadium on the 27th March as England come up against two sides who failed to qualify for the World Cup.
Bertrand keeps his place in the squad after some fine performances for both club and country in recent years and is at this stage the best left-back in the England ranks.

Southampton currently find themselves in a tough position in the Premier League but Bertrand has been playing as captain in recent games and will play a key role if the side are to avoid relegation this season to the Championship.
Elsewhere, Josh Sims has been called up to the England under 20 squad for their matches with Poland and Portugal after returning from a long-term injury in recent weeks for the club.
