According to Sky Sports, Southampton front-man Charlie Austin backs his side to avoid relegation this season.
After bagging five goals in seven games for The Saint’s, the English striker pulled his hamstring at the end of the busy Christmas period, and Southampton’s results have seen a huge decline since, winning just one in eight.
Despite Austin not being fit until five weeks time, he believes that his side will not get relegated this season, even though they are currently sitting in the bottom three.

When talking to Sky Sports News, Austin said
My gut says we’ve got a good enough squad to stay in the Premier League but I’m under no illusions that in the Premier League you’re given nothing. We need to perform now.
If Austin can return to injury and fire his side up the table to avoid relegation, he would be putting in a great case to Gareth Southgate to put him in the England World Cup squad at the end of the season.
