According to Simon Peach, Southampton are unlikely to sign Spartak Moscow’s Quincy Promes unless something drastic is to happen this deadline day.

Southampton have struggled this season and are in desperate need for a fresh attacking ideas as they look to secure their Premier League status for next season.
They currently sit in the relegation zone ahead of their game at home against Brighton tonight and they need to add to their signing of Guido Carrillo, who could make his Premier League debut tonight, if they want to switch it up at the top of the pitch.

The asking price from Spartak Moscow was met after a first bid was rejected for Promes, but the Russian club are now reluctant to sell the Netherlands starlet unless they can sign a replacement before the deadline, which is looking impossible.
Southampton will have no problem paying the price for Promes, as they look to spend the £75m which they received from Liverpool at the beginning of the window for Promes’ fellow countryman, Virgil van Dijk, but Moscow are reluctant to sell.
Saints will look to secure a deal for Promes in the summer if they can’t get one over the line today.
