Southampton target Quincy Promes has been named in the Spartak Moscow starting XI for their match today, the club have confirmed.
Spartak will face CSKA Sofia in a friendly, and the 26-year-old’s involvement all but rules out a move to Southampton. Southampton have been looking to spend this window since selling star defender Virgil van Dijk for a world-record fee.

The Dutch winger has been playing for the Russian side since 2014, after moving from FC Twente in his home country. He has made 115 appearances, scoring 58 times and creating a further 31 goals. These impressive stats have led to him securing a place in the Dutch national team. Since 2014, he has been capped 25 times and scored four goals.
Southampton currently sit 19th in the Premier League, well in the relegation zone following a disappointing season. They face 16th placed Brighton tonight, with a win being enough to pull them back to safety.
