Southampton face a vital encounter tomorrow as they come face to face with relegation rivals Brighton and Hove Albion at St Mary’s.
Saints boss Mauricio Pellegrino is set to make late calls on whether Ryan Bertrand and Guido Carrillo can feature in this one.
Pellegrino, as quoted by the club’s official website, spoke about the situation of both Bertrand and Carrillo in his pre-match press conference.
Ryan was taken off during the game the other day but he is much better today. He will try and get ready tomorrow and we will see what condition he is in.
Guido came off the bench for us on Saturday and maybe is not yet at 100 per cent. Like Ryan, we will have another look at him tomorrow.
Bertrand in particular will be a massive loss if he can’t make it back in time for this fixture because he has become a massive part of the Saints side in recent seasons and has been one of the club’s better performers so far this term.

The Saints boss also spoke about the progress of top scorer Charlie Austin, who has been missing since before Christmas after picking up a hamstring injury in the draw against Huddersfield at St Mary’s Stadium.
Pellegrino spoke about the situation of Saints’ number 10.
(Austin) is back on the pitch training, something that is really good news for us.
Elsewhere, he has a fully fit squad to choose from for the visit of the Seagulls in a must-win encounter for the club in what is an important week, with a trip to West Brom to come on Saturday.
