Southampton have confirmed on their official club website that youngster Matt Targett has joined Championship club Fulham on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old defender has been finding it difficult to break into the first team with the Saints this campaign and is desperate to gain more competitive football, which is why he has moved to Fulham until the summer.

Targett, who is a product of the flourishing Southampton youth system, has made two appearances for the Premier League club this season.
The left-back has joined the high-flying Championship side and will be hoping to help the London club to secure promotion to the top-flight for next season.
Targett is highly rated by the coaches at Southampton, which is why the deal is only a loan one as they look are confident that he will develop under the guidance of Fulham boss Slaviša Jokanović.
Targett is looking forward to joining up with the Fulham squad. He said:
One of the main reasons I joined is that the club is in a great place at the moment and results have been fantastic. I can’t wait to be a part of that. I am very excited to make my Fulham debut and the most important thing is that we pick up the three points when I do.
Targett has been a regular for the England youth national teams throughout his career. He won his first cap for England at Under-19 level, and went on to captain the Under-20 side. He was also a member of the under-21 squad at the 2015 European Championships.
