Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants to keep hold of Southampton target Theo Walcott at the club in the January transfer window.
Southampton have reportedly registered their interest in bringing back the former Saints youngster in recent weeks and were looking to get a loan deal completed in the January transfer window.
However, despite Wenger hardly choosing Walcott to play this season, the Frenchman has admitted that he’d like to keep the England international. Wenger said:
I want him to stay. I heard about [the Southampton rumours], but personally I want him to stay.

Alexis Sanchez’ situation doesn’t help things either, with the Gunners wanting to sort out the Chilean’s future before making a decision on Walcott.
Southampton meanwhile are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements, having really struggled in recent weeks.
The club have money to spend after selling Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool for £75 million and are ready to invest in order to ensure their Premier League status remains intact.
Walcott would add much-needed quality and experience to Southampton’s attack, as well as being a homecoming for the 28-year old.
