Southampton are reportedly scouting Sarpsborg 08 youngster Krepin Diatta.
The 18-year-old has been making waves across Europe this season as a result of some impressive displays for the Norwegian outfit.
Having come through the ranks at Sarpsborg, Diatta has gone on to establish himself as a full Senegal Under-20 international and has caught the eye of many across Europe.
Manchester United have been strongly linked with a move for the midfielder, with the youngster seemingly open to the move. However, according to a report from Galsenfoot, Saints are also keeping tabs on the prospect.
Diatta is being tipped for big things and is continuing to progress with Sarpsborg. Although, he has recently spoke of his future plans and his ambitions for the next step in his career.
As quoted by Galsenfoot, Diatta is keen for his next move to be to a Ligue 1 club.
If I have to choose a championship as the next step, I think it will be the French Ligue 1. And then there may be other things later. I’ve liked Ligue 1 since I was little. It would really be a good step forward for me.
Diatta is clearly one to watch, but it looks as though if Saints have been impressed with what they’ve seen, they’ll need to fend off competition from elsewhere for his signature.
