Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has poked fun at his club’s recent transfer dealings with Southampton, ahead of Saturday’s clash between the two sides.
The Reds boss is looking for revenge this weekend after his side were held to a 0-0 draw by the Saints the last time they met, towards the tail end of the 2016-17 season.

Klopp has acknowledged that Saturday’s game will not be an easy one (via Southampton’s official website):
I don’t care how long it’s been since we scored. I know it will be difficult again to win against Southampton, but it’s still possible.
The German manager has risked the wrath of Saints fans though, by taking aim at the club’s transfer dealings:
It’s obviously not a friendly game because there is a special relationship between Southampton and Liverpool – we have given them a lot of money for a few players.
Said ‘special relationship’ has seen five Southampton players leave to join Liverpool in the last few years.
Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Rickie Lambert all departed the south coast for Merseyside in 201, before Clyne joined them at Anfield in 2015 and most recently, Sadio Mane became a Red in 2016.

Klopp feels that good business has been done between the two clubs:
I think Liverpool always paid a fair price
Virgil van Dijk is the latest Saints man to interest the Anfield club, and there was a long, drawn-out transfer saga concerning the Dutchman in the most recent transfer window.
