Southampton face Burnley in their next Premier League clash at St Mary’s on Saturday.
The Lancashire side sit 7th in the table at present, three spots above a tenth placed Saints. Victory for the visitors this weekend could lift Sean Dyche’s men into the top six.
Mauricio Pellegrino’s side held out for a 1-1 draw away at Brighton last weekend, with Steven Davis’ early goal being cancelled out by a second half Glenn Murray header.
Burnley defeated Newcastle at Turf Moor on Monday, with midfielder Jeff Hendrick snatching the points for the Clarets.
Despite speculation mounting over Dyche’s future at Turf Moor, Burnley have been in fine form away from home this season, picking up eight points on the road from five games, getting results at Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham along the way.
Southampton could go four games unbeaten with a win or draw in this fixture, with victory potentially putting them level on points with Liverpool.
Both sides have some quality in their ranks, and I take a look at a combined XI.
