Southampton had scouts in attendance as Chaves defeated Estoril 2-0 away from home in a Liga NOS clash.
Saints have reportedly had scouts out in Portugal for some time now, and it looks as though they are continuing with their viewings across the country as they look to identify new talent.
It’s claimed by Portuguese news outlet A Bola that both Saints and Manchester United were in attendance, along with Liga NOS duo Benfica and Sporting CP. Spanish duo Getafe and Cordoba were also looking on, according to the report.

Benfica watched on as loanee Pedro Rodrigues impressed for Estoril, while Sporting tracked Domingos Duarte’s progress at Chaves.
There is no indication as to who Saints had their eye on, but they have been closely monitoring clashes in Portugal for a few years now, and could be taking a closer look at yet more gems from across the border.
