Southampton held firm to beat a poor Crystal Palace side 1-0, with the goal coming from Saints captain Steven Davis on his 200th appearance for the club.
Mauricio Pellegrino made four changes to the side that lost to Watford last week as Maya Yoshida, Shane Long, Dusan Tadic and Mario Lemina all came into the starting eleven.

In the later stages of the game, it was time for Virgil van Dijk’s return, as the Dutchman replaced Tadic to try and see out the game.
And it was just what they did as Pellegrino got his first away win as Saints manager and caused more misery for Palace.
