Southampton were held to a goalless draw against a resilient Huddersfield side, as both teams kept their undefeated record in the Premier League.
The first half was dominated by the hosts, with little chances for the Saints, but Mauricio Pellegrino’s side managed to hold on until the break.
The second half was a lot better from Saints, with a lot more possession and goal-scoring chances to be shown.
Manolo Gabbiadini had a few chances to open the scoring, but lashed the ball wide on a few of occasions, meaning that the Italian would be subbed off in the last 20 minutes of the match.
The visitors got their best chance of the game late on, as a pull back by Sam McQueen almost found Maya Yoshida, but the man with the new contract couldn’t position himself to shoot in time.
Ryan Bertrand had the last chance of the game, as the England international was found at the back post, but his header was cleared off the line, meaning the points were shared for the second time in Saints’ season.
