Birmingham City boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed his interest in Southampton striker Sam Gallagher ahead of a proposed loan move.
Redknapp signed Arsenal defenders Carl Jenkinson and Cohen Bramall today, both arriving on season-long loans, and could be set to add another loanee to his ever growing squad.
As quoted by the Birmingham Mail, Redknapp said:
He’s a player we’re interested in but we haven’t got that one over the line yet.
He’s a good centre-forward, he’s got a great attitude, works with the play and scores goals. He’s a player that would interest us.

Gallagher spent last term out on loan with Championship side Blackburn Rovers and managed to notch 12 goals during his time at Ewood Park.
The Birmingham Mail also report that Redknapp’s attractive offer of first-team football has moved the club ahead of others in the pursuit of the 21-year-old.
Fellow Championship clubs Aston Villa and Derby County are also believed to have held talks with Southampton regarding Gallagher.
