Following the 0-0 draw with Swansea on the opening weekend, Saints host West Ham at St Mary’s for their second game of the season.
West Ham were well and truly beaten on the opening weekend of 2017/18 Premier League season, losing 4-0 away to Manchester United.
The last time the sides met, Manolo Gabbiadini scored on his debut for Saints but was unable to prevent his side losing 3-1 to the Hammers back in February.
Southampton will be desperate to at least score a goal as they have failed to find the back of the net in their previous six home games. This game will be Mauricio Pellegrino’s second game in charge of the Saints and he will be doing everything to claim a win at the second time of asking.
This game will be a tough test as West Ham will be looking to bounce back from their hammering away at Manchester United just last Sunday.
In the build up to the match we though we’d a take a look at what a combined starting XI would look like the two clubs were to join forces.
