Southampton will begin their Carabao Cup campaign with a clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Saints have been drawn in the second round of the competition for the first time since the 2014/15 season. This is because they have no involvement in European competition for the forthcoming campaign, and subsequently do not enter in at the third round instead.

Southampton reached the final of the League Cup last season under Claude Puel. They beat Crystal Palace 2-0, Sunderland 1-0 and Arsenal 2-0 along the way, and also came out on top in a dramatic two-legged contest against Liverpool, winning 2-0 on aggregate.
They were, however, defeated in the last stretch of the competition, as Manchester United swept what was the EFL Cup.
Saints will take on Nuno Santo’s men in the week commencing 21st August at St Mary’s Stadium, in what promises to be a relatively difficult encounter for both sides.
