Southampton are a club that like to bring through young talent, and help these players ply their trade at the highest level.
This has been evident throughout the last few seasons, where academy graduates have been given the opportunity to prove themselves in the biggest league in the world.
Saints have harvested their talented youngsters, going on to reap the rewards financially with these players leaving for hefty transfer fees. Players like Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all been examples of this, not to mention Gareth Bale!
More recently though, the likes of James Ward-Prowse, Josh Sims, Matt Targett, Sam McQueen and Jake Hesketh have all broken through the Southampton ranks. The most noticeable one is Ward-Prowse, who has become a regular starter in the Saints side, whilst also captaining the England U21 national team.
With the South Coast side seeming like a stepping stone club for promising youngsters hoping to break through, I have taken a look at Europe’s rising stars and assessed whether they could be a part of Southampton FC.
