The player began to play in the Lech Poznan youth categories, being loaned in the 2015/16 season to Górnik Łęczna to gain experience. He’s since heavily impressed by breaking into Poznan’s first team and this has clearly attracted Saints’ interest.
There is an undisclosed Bundesliga club that are already interested in the possibility of a move, so now Southampton are due to start the fight for Bednarek.
According to the Przegląd Sportowy, Southampton are ready to lodge a bid worth around €6m for him and this could be a transfer record for the Polish league, which currently stands at a lowly sum of €2.5m.
The defender is preparing for the U21 European Championship. The tournament will be held in Poland and he will face England, Slovakia and Sweden in the group stages.
Saints have a reputation for unearthing gems from across the globe, and Bednarek could be the next man in line.
