Southampton’s transfer to-do list

Southampton’s transfer to-do list

As the 2016/17 season draws to a close, it means there is only one thing upon us: the summer transfer window!

Southampton are known to be very busy at this time of year, with endless amounts of rumours about key players of the previous season moving onto bigger clubs showing up inside Les Reed’s inbox.

The Saints have had a good season, despite not reaching the heights of the top six, but new manager Claude Puel has impressed in his first season in Southampton and the Premier League.

His style of play and game tactics have not seen eye-to-eye with every Southampton supporter, but the French manager has got the south coast side a spot in the top half, which is respectable as he had a big job on his hands.

The loss of Graziano Pelle, Sadio Mane and Victor Wanyama, three of Southampton’s best players of the previous season, gave the Southampton board a lot of work to do in terms of rebuilding the side once again.

But Puel has had a good first season for Saints, most importantly an incredible cup run that hasn’t been achieved under ex-managers Mauricio Pochettino and Ronald Koeman, as the Saints got to the EFL Cup final at Wembley Stadium, but narrowly lost out to silverware after controversially losing 3-2 to Manchester United.

With the transfer window only a few weeks away, here are a few things I would like Southampton to do this summer in order to achieve a very successful 17/18 season:
