Southampton travel to the Riverside on Saturday for their final away trip and Saturday three o’clock kick-off of the season.
The Saints head into this game having not won any of their last five games – failing to score in their last three. Claude Puel’s side have carried out two draws and three defeats recently.
However, Middlesbrough are gearing up for their final game at the Riverside in the Premier League for at least one season, after being relegated away at champions elect Chelsea on Monday.
Middlesbrough are currently under caretaker management with Steve Agnew at the helm after departing company with Aitor Karanka in March.
With this being Boro’s last home game in the top flight for a season at least, they’ll be desperate to get the win and send the fans off from the Riverside with a good result before returning to the Championship next season.
Meanwhile, Saints are desperate to get out of their current run of form with a win on Saturday to ease the building pressure on manager Claude Puel, who could reportedly be sacked at the end of the season.
Saints know they have the quality to pick up all three points despite Boro’s desperation to win their final home game.
Despite their relegation on Monday, join us as we investigate Middlesbrough’s form ahead of Saturday:
