Southampton welcome Arsenal to St Mary’s on tonight as they look to finish the season strongly under Claude Puel.
The Saints will be hoping to improve upon their current record against the top six teams in the league, having only taken three points from ten games against them this season.
Arsenal are currently sixth in the league and need to win all of their remaining games to stand any chance of reaching the top four. Arsene Wenger’s team will be in a good mood, however, following their previous victory over fifth-placed Manchester United.
This was Arsene Wenger’s first triumph over rival Jose Mourinho in the Premier League, and he will be looking to continue that form against his former protégé Claude Puel on Wednesday evening.
Arguably, Arsenal have more to play for than Saints towards the close of the season, with eighth place the best that Southampton can hope for. However, if they can defend like they have done in their two previous goalless draws while finding some potency upfront, it could be a very difficult night for the Gunners.
Here are five things to watch out for at St Mary’s.
