Southampton host Arsenal on Wednesday night as one of their two games in hand on the teams around them.
Saints have already hosted Arsenal this season back in January in an FA Cup tie. Claude Puel’s men lost the game 5-0 after Claude Puel made wholesale changes after reaching the EFL Cup final earlier that week, and the result of it was a disgraceful performance against an opposition who have real quality in depth.
Puel took full responsibility for the defeat in January as he rested players for the game against Swansea in the league just three days later – which Saints also lost.
Both sides go into this game in inconsistent form and looking to finish the season strongly. The Gunners come into the game after a very good win at home to Manchester United. Whereas Saints come into this game on the back of 0-0 draw at Anfield which saw them fail to register a shot on target against Liverpool.
Ahead of the clash, it’s time to ask: who is the dangerman for Arsenal?
