Southampton were outclassed by a good Manchester City side yesterday, as they were beaten comfortably 3-0 at St. Mary’s.
Despite many good opportunities for the away side in the first-half, Saints had a good chance to score as Manolo Gabbiadini pulled the ball back to Dusan Tadic, whose strike from the edge of the box went well over the crossbar.
City dominated for the rest of the half and their dominance paid off as Vincent Kompany scored his first goal since August 2015, as the Belgian headed home from a corner.
The Sky Blues doubled their lead soon after with a counter attack, as Kevin De Bruyne squared the ball to Leroy Sane, who simply tapped it in from close range.
City scored another just three minutes later, as De Bruyne crossed the ball into Sergio Aguero, who headed powerfully to end a good performance from City.
Here are five things we learned from the loss.
