According to an exclusive report from the Telegraph this evening, West Ham are interested in Southampton striker Shane Long.
The Republic of Ireland striker scored just his first goal of the season today as Saints slumped to a second consecutive Premier League defeat, with West Brom coming away with a well-deserved 2-1 win.
Long hasn’t been anywhere near his best so far in the first half of the campaign and will be hoping that he can kick on and better himself in the remaining games, but West Ham are claimed to be interested in making a shock January move for the striker.

The 29-year-old is wanted by Slaven Bilic, who is also looking to solve his side’s goal scoring problems. With a lack of cutting edge becoming increasingly apparent this season, the Croatian manager is hoping to bring Long to the London Stadium.
Long signed a new four-year contract with Saints back in the summer and a move does seem largely unlikely.
