Southampton will be hoping to put the misery of Thursday night behind them when they travel to Manchester City today.
Saints are in fantastic form. They’ve picked up six clean sheets in seven games in all competitions and are looking to make it their fifth consecutive Premier League clash without a defeat.
Both sides are missing key players for today; Southampton are without full-backs Cedric Soares, Ryan Bertrand and Matt Targett, so this means that both Cuco Martina and Sam McQueen are in line to start on either flank of the defence.
A contest is on the cards for Southampton today facing a Manchester City side sitting third in the league, however they do have a game in hand over top two sides Arsenal and Liverpool and will be looking to add to their title push today.
City are without a win in their last four games in all competitions, whilst manager Pep Guardiola is continually changing things around to try find his best Manchester City line-up, but still keeping everyone fresh – much the same as Claude Puel is doing with Saints.
If Southampton win the game, they will have stretch Pep Guardiola’s record to five games without a win – the last time that happened was five years ago.
Here are five key battles we’ll see at the Etihad.
