So, we’re seven games into the Premier League season and Southampton appear to have coped well yet again with another summer of transition.
Plenty of players have left the club this summer, along with manager Ronald Koeman, but The Saints have replaced as well as ever in the form of new boss Claude Puel and a whole host of fresh talent.
There has been lots of involvement for the new signings so far, too, with some playing more games than others in the variety of different competitions we now find ourselves in as a result of the Europa League group stage.
It is, of course, very early on in their tenures with Southampton but it’s always good to look at the first impressions regarding the new signings to get a feel for how they are going to do for Saints in the future.
So, here are my grades so far for the summer signings made by Saints, ranked from A* down to D!
I’ve obviously excluded Sofiane Boufal due to the fact that he’s yet to play a game and is continuing his recovery from an earlier meniscus tear sustained during the latter parts of his spell with French club LOSC Lille.
