Jordan Amavi is set to reunite with his former Nice boss, Claude Puel, at Southampton, according to French publication Nice-Matin.
Amavi has been linked with multiple moves away since Villa’s relegation. A return to the Premier League and the promise of European football may be major factors in his decision.

The left-back joined Villa last summer for a fee of £10million.
He made 12 appearances for Villa and assisted three goals before his season ended in November after he ruptured his cruciate ligament while on international duty with the French U21 side.
This injury meant he never got the opportunity to properly prove himself for Villa and was unable to play a key role in their battle against relegation, which ultimately they lost
Southampton will be playing in the Europa League next season, seemingly under the management of Puel, who is expected to be announced officially in the coming days.
