Southampton manager Ronald Koeman has spoken about his side’s confidence that they can get a result when the face top of the table Leicester City.
Speaking to saintsfc.co.uk , Koeman expressed his confidence that Southampton can upset the big teams in the tough run of fixtures they are now coming into.
We are full of confidence. Of course, we know we have some difficult ones. That starts this Sunday. Leicester is playing for the title and that will be a very tough one, but we are Southampton.
Koeman also cited Saints 3-2 win over Liverpool as a performance to replicate against Leicester. He singled out the second half, where Southampton came back from 2-0 down to snatch a victory against Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Ok, we had a great win against Liverpool and if we show the same spirit and same quality as we showed in the second half then we can get a good result.

The Saints boss also spoke about Southampton’s record against the big clubs, and used it as something to give hope to the fans that Southampton can snatch an unlikely result.
We can make it difficult to all the teams and we have a good record against good teams in having good results.
Saints currently sit in seventh place, whilst Leicester sit top of the league and five points clear of rivals Tottenham. In the reverse fixture, Leicester came back from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw at St. Mary’s
