The eyes of the football world will once again focus on the King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon, as Southampton are the latest team to attempt to derail their seemingly unstoppable title charge.
Only time will tell how the two-week international break will affect the two sides, as both teams went into the final break of the domestic season on the back of impressive wins. Claudio Ranieri’s table toppers picked up a vital 1-0 away win at Crystal Palace, who continue to drop like a stone down the league.
While on the south coast, Southampton pulled off one of the comebacks of the season as they came from 2-0 down to Jurgen Klopp’s resurgent Liverpool. But three late goals from Sadio Mane and Graziano Pelle somehow saved the game for the Saints.
While Southampton may not have quite as much on the line as their hosts this weekend, Koeman’s men will be desperate for a last-minute charge up the table in the hope of sneaking a Europa League spot.
