Rangers are set to complete a loan move for Southampton midfielder Harrison Reed that will last the rest of the season. Manager Mark Warburton is looking to bolster his squad before the transfer deadline in a few days and has listed Reed as a top target.
The highly rated youngster has come through the ranks of Southampton’s youth academy and made his first Premier League start in December 2014, a 3-0 win over Everton.
The England Under-20 international has made just one Premier League start this campaign, however.
Since 2013, Reed has made a total of just 21 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League side and has yet to score for the team.

Multiple clubs have expressed interest in signing the 20-year-old on loan, but Rangers are said to be leading the chase and according to Daily Mail are said to be completing a deal within the next 48 hours.
Reed has found himself out of Southampton manager Ronald Koeman’s current plans with Jordy Clasie, Victor Wanyama, Oriol Romeu and James Ward-Prowse all ahead of him in terms of playing time.
Southampton are ready to allow the midfielder to go on loan this month so he can see regular first team action.
