After two successful cameo, appearances which resulted in Dusan Tadic scoring two goals within minutes and ultimately Saints winning the game; the Serbian has given manager Ronald Koeman a selection headache for Saturday’s trip to Manchester United.
What has happened in the last two games, was a repeat of when Saints visited Old Trafford last season; Tadic came off the bench to score just minutes after being introduced to the action. Because of the impressive performances he has put in for the last two outings, Ronald Koeman has urged the Serbian play-maker to continue his hard work.
“I had a talk to Dušan,”
Koeman told Southampton’s official website.
“He had a big impact when he came off the bench, scoring goals and assisting in the last part of attacking.

Tadic has somewhat blown a little bit hot and cold for Southampton since his arrival in the summer of 2014, putting in three or four very good performances but following them up with a bad one and to stay in the Southampton side, consistency is the key.
Koeman has said what the Serbian needs to do in order for Tadic to maintain his place in the starting eleven, but the Dutch tactician also stated that he can be very useful as an impact sub.
“I think we need Dušan on his level, and of course if he doesn’t start normally it’s the reason that I think another player in that position can bring more to the team.
Sometimes from the beginning it’s not so important or not really that level what he showed when he came off the bench.
“It’s difficult because in the last part of the game you maybe get more space.
He has to keep working, keep fighting and show his qualities.”
Ahead of Saturday’s game, the Dutchman has expressed how difficult it is to change a winning side to give other players within the squad an opportunity.
“It’s sometimes difficult because if the team is doing well, the team is winning and the player has his impact when he comes off the bench, then you don’t change a winning team,”
“It’s a little about the system, a little about the opponent and in the aspects we change sometimes players or positions. We will see what happens on Saturday.”
Will Tadic be able to repeat history this Saturday at Old Trafford?
