Saints’ Under 21 captain Dom Gape has said, ahead of their fixture with Everton U21, that he can’t wait to be playing properly again.
Speaking to sainstfc.co.uk, he said that it has been a long time since their last fixture and that he is excited to be playing competitively again.
He stated that the start of their U21 Premier League campaign has been good, however, they should probably be doing better than they currently are.
We’ve had a good start. We probably should have more points than we do, but it has given us a good platform to build on.
Gape says that Everton have been a bit of a bogey team for the U21’s in recent years and hopes that they can make amends to previous results with a win.
Southampton youth team currently sit second in the U21 Premier League, five points off leaders Sunderland, but with a game in hand.
