Liverpool have tabled an improved second bid for Nathaniel Clyne, with the offer believed to be £12.5million.
Brendan Rodgers is looking to add the 24 year-old to his current collection of former-Saints starlets having already poached Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren last summer.
Tony Barrett of The Times tweeted the news:
After snaring Firmino, Liverpool have renewed their attempt to sign Clyne. An improved offer (£10.5m rising to £12.5m) has gone in.

Shortly after the final match of the season Liverpool put up £10million for the England international but this bid was swiftly rejected by the Saints who are said to be looking for a minimum offer of £15million.
The Saints right-back joined the club in 2012 and has since made 96 Premier League appearances contributing three goals and seven assists – his form for Southampton earning him a first England call-up and cap in 2014.
