2015/16 Fixture List Released

The fixtures for the 2015/16 season have today been released with Southampton kicking off their season on Tyneside against Newcastle on 8th August.

Their first match at St. Mary’s is a week later against Everton in what looks to be a fairly kind opening month for the Saints.

The first team to visit the South Coast out of last season’s top four is Manchester United in mid-September.

Southampton face newly promoted Bournemouth for the first time at home on the last day of October – the first time the teams have met since they were both in League One back in 2011.

The Christmas period sees both North London clubs visit St. Mary’s with Tottenham on the 21st December and Arsenal on Boxing Day – the first time St. Mary’s has played host to Boxing Day football since the Saints’ return to the Premier League in 2012.

The Saints will then kick off the New Year against Norwich at Carrow Road followed by two home fixtures against Watford and West Brom.

Saints have a tricky looking run-in with four away games in the last two months of the season with trips to Spurs, Everton and the visit of Manchester City all in their final five games.

Finally, Southampton will round off their season at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday 15th May.

This fixture list will be subject to fairly heavy change if Southampton are to qualify for the Europa League group stages with many games, especially in the opening months of the campaign, likely to be moved to Sunday.
