Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has been beaten by Jose Mourinho in the Premier League Manager of the Season award.
Despite not winning a single Manager of the Month, Mourinho scooped the gong this morning alongside Eden Hazard who won the Premier League Player of the Season award.
Koeman has been praised for much of the season for the way he has brought together the Saints squad following a mass exodus last summer – earning two Manager of the Month awards in September and January.
The Saints have broken their highest ever points tally, are guaranteed to finish in their highest ever league position and also recorded huge wins including a 6-1 thrashing of Aston Villa and 8-0 drubbing of Sunderland.
The former Feyenoord boss has been included in the list alongside Jose Mourinho, Nigel Pearson, Garry Monk and Arsene Wenger.
Koeman was brought in by Les Reed and the Southampton board as a replacement for Mauricio Pocchetino who defected to European rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Since his arrival the Dutchman has brought in several former players – opting for tried and tested assets in an unfamiliar league – linking up with Graziano Pelle, Dusan Tadic and Elijero Elia.
