Southampton Football Club have confirmed that youngster Josh Sims has signed a new deal with the club until 2020.

Sims made his breakthrough earlier on in the season and ever since his emergence on the first-team scene, he has caught the eye of many with some exciting performances.

Making his professional debut back at the start of December against Everton at St Mary’s, Sims showed his quality as he notched an assist for Charlie Austin’s decisive goal and put in a man of the match performance.

Since then, Sims has featured in all of Saints’ competitions. He has made his Premier League, Europa League, EFL Cup and FA Cup debuts this season, showing signs of quality in all of them.

Claude Puel has a reputation of nurturing young players and he’ll look to continue this strong work in Sims’ development.
