Southampton and Huddersfield both kept their unbeaten start to the new Premier League season going as the game ended as a 0-0 draw.
Mauricio Pellegrino named the same side that had beaten West Ham in dramatic style the previous week.
The first chance of the game fell to Nathan Redmond who, after 11 minutes of play, had been played through by Steven Davis, and attempted to finesse the ball into Jonas Lossl’s far post, but the ball went inches wide.

Maya Yoshida came to Southampton’s rescue as a square ball into the box by Rajiv van la Parra was met by Elias Kachunga, but the Japanese international managed to pull off a superb block.
Fraser Forster pulled off a very smart save moments later, as a cross by Philip Billing was bound for Steve Mounié, but Forster spread his six foot seven inch frame to deny the Benin striker.
However, Forster produced a heart-in-mouth moment as he attempted to gather a Huddersfield cross, but could only parry the ball into the path of Kachunga. Forster redeemed himself, though, and managed to prevent a gift of a goal for the Terriers.

Southampton next tested the Huddersfield goalkeeper as Manolo Gabbiadini and Mario Lemina combined well, but Gabbiadini’s shot was straight at Lossl’s midriff.
Southampton dominated the later stages of the game with multiple chances, firstly for Redmond, whose shot was saved by Lossl and secondly by Ryan Bertrand, whose header was cleared off the line.
Despite not having suffered a loss so far this season, it seems to be the same old story for Saints, creating multiple chances but failing to convert them into goals. Saints fans hope that the team will improve their finishing and get some more points on the board.
