As you are probably aware, the famed Southampton academy has had huge success throughout the years and has even been described as one of the best in the world.
It has provided talent for seven different national teams, developed the record Premier league scorer in Alan Shearer and guided Gareth Bale to become the £80 million transfer world record at the time, as well as some club legends such as Terry Paine and, of course, Matt Le Tissier.
With the next generation of youngsters constantly coming through the club’s ranks and after good starts to the season for both the under-18 and under-23 teams, I have analysed the players for you to keep an eye on throughout the next few seasons. I decided that, in order to be a part of this list, the player mustn’t have played on a regular basis in the senior side, hence why Matt Targett and James Ward-Prowse do not feature.
